Introduction

Graduating from the University of Florida is an incredible achievement, and one that should be celebrated and remembered for years to come. Here are some tips for taking the best graduation photos on UF campus.

Location

The University of Florida is a beautiful campus with many great spots for graduation photos. Whether you prefer the iconic Century Tower, the historic Plaza of the Americas, or the vast Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, there are plenty of picturesque locations to choose from. However, popular locations can become crowded during graduation season, so be sure to plan ahead and arrive early to secure the best spots. We recommend booking your graduation photography session six to eight weeks in advance as our time slots fill quickly.

Attire

Your graduation photos are a chance to showcase your academic achievement and University of Florida pride. Many students choose to wear their cap and gown, stole, and cords for their photos. Make sure to follow the commencement website's guidelines for wearing graduation regalia to ensure that you comply with the dress code. We also recommend that you wear formal attire under your graduation regalia as this will give us more flexibility to create a more diverse image set. It is also advised to bring comfortable walking shoes as the UF campus is vast and many of the prime locations are not close together.

Add Props

Adding some fun props can be a great way to add a personal touch to your graduation photos. Balloons, confetti, flowers, or signs with your graduation year or degree are all popular options. However, be sure to remember that the focus of your photos should be on you, and not on the props. Also, make sure to clean up after yourself and leave the location as you found it.

Timing

The best time to take graduation photos at the University of Florida is during the week leading up to commencement. During this time, the campus is typically less crowded, giving you more time and space to take your photos. Keep an eye on the weather forecast, as the weather in Florida can be unpredictable. Reschedule your shoot if it rains to avoid ruining your photos.

Don't forget to tag the University of Florida and use the hashtag #UFgrad for a chance to be featured on social media. Congratulations again on your amazing achievement, and enjoy your graduation photos as a lasting reminder of your time at UF!
